ABOUT DEPARTMENT
The Department of Agriculture has been established in 2016 to promote education and research in the area of Agriculture. The college is affiliated to Shri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University Dehradun(A State Govt. University). It offers four years B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture programme. The curriculum focuses on all the core areas of agriculture Environmental studies and Agriculture Ethics as per the recommendations of 5th Deans Committee of ICAR.
This programme is an important step towards an improvement in agricultural practices for diversified cropping areas of the country including precision and organic farming. Modern Technologies and Tools are imparted for improvement in economic farm production with paramount importance of environment protection and sustainable practices. The skill enhancing subjects have been introduced in the curriculum like nursery management, mushroom cultivation, commercial horticulture, commercial bee- keeping, food processing, organic farming and bio- dynamic farming etc. The regular visits to Agri-business & Agri clinic centre, dairy and poultry farms, Integrated Pest Management Institute, Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Organic farming fields and organizing and visiting of Kisan Melas enhances the knowledge or novel inventions in the field of agriculture such as farm machinery, pesticides and seeds etc. These also help students to develop Agri entrepreneur skills. The productive exposure of farming operations are also carried throughout the year by students under the guidance of co-faculty.
The farm provides opportunities to learn and gain experience in Organic farming, Apiculture, Vermicomposting, Horticulture, Plant Pathogens, Soil Analysis and Extension activities. Beyond professional practices, the college also organizes guest lectures, invites experts in their respective areas for providing updated exposure to the students. All faculty members are highly qualified with Ph.D. and ICAR-NET with adequate experience in their respective field of specializations. Agriculture graduates have multiple opportunities in banks, seed and fertilizer companies, insurance sectors, dairy consultancy areas and pesticides industries etc. They can also opt public sector enterprises as Agriculture Research Scientists, Food Inspectors and Instructors etc. They can also move for the higher studies in their preferred specialization.

Mission
- To impart state of art in theory and practical education in area of agricultural science and its allied field.
- To undertake research in the area of agriculture science and allied fields for to develop and the allied field so that they can face the challenges of livelihood security and sustainable development at the local, state national and global level.
- To disseminate agro-technology and undertake mass educational programs especially for the people of rural hilly areas for development of sustainable livelihoods in agriculture and its allied activities.
