Library is a very important component in the infrastructure of an academic institution. It plays a key role in the overall development of a student of that institution.
JBIT management has a long vision and farsightedness for planning and establishing a Library for its students, which is well equipped with the latest technologies of today world and so comparable to all other sophisticated modern Libraries.
The various study resources available in JBIT library can be divided into two major groups: Printed material and electronic material; printed material includes books, magazines, journals, project reports of students and newspapers whereas electronic material includes floppies, CDs and audio cassettes of books, magazines, soft wares and other study material related to different competitive exams.
Library of the Institute contains a collection of books, periodicals, e-resources and non-print materials, which have been acquired and prepared for the use of students, faculty and others library members. Library of the institute is one of the most wired and technology structure in the state.
Library of the institute has a huge collection of textbooks, reference books, periodicals, reports, standards, dissertations etc. Besides this separate digital library, section exists having 10 computers, connected through LAN with the facility of working hours internet service. This section has also the facility to access multimedia-based Learning resources And E- journals. All are server based Learning resource covers many core subjects taught as per university curriculum for B. Tech and subjects useful for major projects. This software also includes testing skill for learning.
There are 10 PCs available for students in the digital library for accessing the following on-line resources-
working hours Internet/ Intranet connected library through WI-FI technology.

The IEEE/IEE electronic library (IEL) covers almost one third of the world’s current electrical engineering and computer science literature. The resource covers more than 1082760 documents from over 12000 publications, including journals, transactions, conference proceedings, IEEE standards.
As the name suggests, this section is meant for easy and quick reference. This section contains minimum one books of almost all the titles available in general book section. You are not entitled for getting reference books issued in your name. You may study those reference books inside the library, which are not available for time being in the general book section. In special circumstances, these items can be issued to you if requests are sent through proper channel i.e. your request should be strongly recommended and forwarded to chairman library committee by your faculty advisor, faculty coordinator or by your subject teacher.
XEROXING FACILITY
JBIT Library provides you this facility for Xeroxing certain articles/pages from those magazines, textbooks and journals that are not issued to the students in ordinary case.
You can avail the Xeroxing facility in JBIT Library at a reasonable charges. From this session onwards, you are required to fill up the requisition slip meant for this purpose indicating the title of book/Author, name of article and page number i.e. from this page to that page. After filling up the requisition slip, you have to deposit it along with the Xerox charges to Library Staff. After one or two hours you can collect the Xeroxed article from Xerox facility in charge.
JBIT Library is equipped with online search units. Two PCs have been installed inside the Library exclusively for this purpose. By using on line search, you can quickly find out the location and availability of a particular book in the JBIT Library. You can search a book online in many ways by selecting different fields in the LIBSYS Software.

Online searching procedure is very simple and whole procedure is written and pasted, on the Notice Board in Library. Still if you face any difficulty in following the on line search procedure, feel free to contact any Library staff member for help.
Last Session onwards, JBIT library is maintaining a Suggestion cum Recommendation Register in the JBIT Library in which you can recommend new books and make suggestions for more copies of any particular title in the Library.
JBIT management is kind enough for allocating sufficient budget to JBIT Library every session for the purpose of procurement of new books or extra copies of existing title for the Library. But all such books/titles will be procured after thorough consultation with the subject Teachers or Faculty coordinators.
Periodical Section:
All the newspapers, magazines, journals come under this section. JBIT library is subscribing 5 daily newspapers (2 English & 3 Hindi), 1 weekly newspaper, 19 magazines and more than 72 hard copy journals of various disciplines. These periodicals are available to you for easy reference during all the working hours within the library. In special circumstances, these can be issued to you with prior permission of Chairman-Library Committee, Director. But all such requests should be strongly recommended by the subject teacher, faculty advisor or faculty coordinator.
You are also entitled to refer the CDs of different magazines, which in special circumstances can be issued by following the same procedure.
Circulation Timing:
Issue and return of books is handled with the help of computers. Readers can get themselves enrolled as member of the Library. The timings of issue and return of books are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
